MANILA, Philippines – Boxing coach Freddie Roach returned to the Philippines on Tuesday to whip Manny Pacquiao back into tip-top shape in time for the Filipino champion’s May 7 fight against Shane Mosley.

The boxing hall-of-famer arrived in Manila this morning, along with another one of his protégés, reigning women's boxing champion Anna “The Hurricane” Julaton.

Roach said he plans to begin Pacquiao's training immediately.

They are set to travel this month to Baguio City where the 8-division champion will undergo high-altitude training.

Pacquiao already began his stamina work last week to prepare himself for heavy training in the City of Pines.

Roach and Pacquiao plan to spend more than three weeks in Baguio before heading to Los Angeles in April to continue the fight preparations at the Wild Card Gym.

The Filipino boxing superstar will defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Mosley in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The boxing trainer earlier said he will prepare Pacquiao against the best version of Mosley.
The 39-year-old Mosley, a former world champion who held several titles in 3 weight classes, is seen as an underdog against Pacquiao because of his age.

However, Roach refused to underestimate the American boxer, citing that he is capable of knocking out opponents.

"We will be preparing for a hungry and the best Mosley, the one who knocked out [Antonio] Margarito," Roach said earlier.
