MANILA, Philippines – Azkals star player Phil Younghusband sprung a big surprise on Angel Locsin by giving her a designer bag as birthday gift.
Phil bought a Givenchy bag at Adora in Greenbelt 5 before Angel’s birthday. The popular football player had the bag delivered to the actress’ house last weekend when he, Angel and Bubbles Paraiso were still in Hong Kong and Macau.
Angel and Bubbles flew to Hongkong April 22, Good Friday, a day before her birthday. The day after Black Saturday, Phil joined them in HK to surprise the actress.
Phil, Angel and Bubbles spent the whole day together and even went on a sidetrip to Macau. They returned to Manila on Easter Sunday, April 24.
Upon her return, Angel was surprised to see the Givenchy bag waiting in her room.
Photos of Angel and Phil during their trip have surfaced in some website. Angel, while fully aware of it, refused to say anything about it.
“May mga lumabas na pictures but parang ayaw ko nang magkuwento about that,” Angel said in one event recently.
Even Phil is mum about the rumored HK date. When asked, he simply let out a smile and said, “Happy birthday, Angel.”
Angel and Phil’s brewing romance is being closely followed by their fans. It started when the star football player expressed his admiration for the actress. This was followed by his invitation to her via Twitter to go out on a date on
Valentine’s Day. Though the Kapamilya actress declined it, she said the date can be arranged for another day.
The next thing people knew, Phil and Angel went on a date in a firing range which almost didn't push through because the venue was unavailable when they first booked it.
Another date between the Azkal striker and the actress was reported when they were sighted attending a church service together at the Fort.
On her April 10 exclusive interview on “The Buzz”, Angel admitted that “he makes me happy ngayon.”
She related that Phil always texts her. "Hindi ko alam kung panliligaw iyon but lagi kaming magkausap ngayon. Lagi siyang nagte-text."
She also revealed how gutsy Phil was during their first meeting – he bravely showed up to her house to meet her family.
“Siyempre niyaya lang niya ako sa tweet. Ayaw ko namang mag-effort, so kung ikaw gusto mong makipagkita, pumunta ka sa bahay ko. Nandoon lahat ng pamilya ko.
Dumating siyang mag-isa, ang lamig-lamig niya. Na-appreciate ko iyon kasi ang tapang niya. Hinarap niya ang family ko," the actress related.
