From the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez take their act to New York for the second stop of the four-city press tour for their November 12 welterweight title showdown.

The Filipino boxing icon and his long time Mexican nemesis arrived in the Big Apple Monday one after the other following a long, tiring trip from Manila where the initial leg of the tour was held over the weekend.

Pacquiao was with Canadian adviser Michael Konz, assistant trainer Roger Fernandez and lawyer Franklin Gacal where they were greeted by a small group of early morning well-wishers that shouted 'Manny', 'Manny', 'Manny', and 'Win and get Floyd next', obviously referring to the twice-postponed, but still highly-anticipated fight between the world's top pound-for-pound boxer today and unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Marquez, meanwhile, arrived with manager Fernando Beltran and trainer Nacho Beristain.

The press conference, which will be open to the public, will be held at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

After the New York stop, both fighters will proceed to Los Angeles for the third leg of the tour on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).

The whirlwind trip then ends in Mexico City Thursday, where thousands of Mexicans are expected to welcome the two boxing stars whose rivalry is considered one of the most compelling in the history of the sport.

Pacquiao and his entourage then returns to Manila over the weekend as the eight-time world champion is expected to spend a week in General Santos City and Sarangani before formally opening training camp for his November 12 World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title match with Marquez. - JVP, GMA News
